Maine Day Trip was founded by Norman Forgey and has provided private escorted tours and motor coach step-on guides since 2007. In 2022, Maine Day Trip was acquired by North American Traveler who operates a complete travel package planning program called Downeaster Travel Packages. Maine Day Trip provided all of the private tours for the Downeaster Travel Package Program. Under Norm's direction, Maine Day Trip has become one of the most trusted suppliers for touring along the Maine Coast. Steven Grasso will take over as the steward of Maine Day Trip to carry on the great product and service that Norm provided for so many years. Maine Day Trip will now be, Maine Day Trips & Tours. We are proud to have provided over 10,000 guests with a private and customized experience. Let us create a customized experience for you and your family or group. The experience can include just guiding, driver guiding or we can help you plan out all arrangements including hotels, other activities, meals and so much more. Multi-day tours are a specialty! Private road trip tours are available to experience Maine's natural and historic landmarks. Spend a relaxed and memorable day with your guide who will be personable and informative. Your private day trip is conducted in our Toyota Sienna Minivan. Our passionate tour guides will pick you up at your designated hotel, ship pier, train station or other address in the Portland, Freeport or Kennebunkport areas at the time you choose. Please inquire as guides in those areas are not as abundant as Southern Maine.
